The April workshop went really well. The participants’ feedbacks were overwhelmingly positive. It feels great to know that we are on the right track with our workshop planning. The feedbacks indicated that our participants would like more workshop time, so we will endeavour to lengthen our workshops whenever possible.
On Saturday, May 26, we will be having our second CBBAG Tea/Coffee Social at The Grind, 4124 Main St (E. King Edward Ave), Vancouver from 10am to noon. We would love to see what you’ve been working on!
On Sunday, September 30, 2012, we will be participating at Word on the Street (WOTS). This annual public event is held at Library Square, Vancouver and will run from 11-5pm. This is a chance for the general public to see what bookbinders and book artists do. We will be holding hourly demonstrations. More details will follow in late May.
We are planning another Vancouver workshop on Saturday, October 13, 2012 on Simple Non-Sewn Bookbinding Structures with Kathy Nash. Further details will be announced in May/June, so stay tuned!
We are also exploring 2013 workshop possibitilities. One or two ideas we’ve been bouncing around are (1) unusual binding structures such as Star Books and (2) printmaking techniques that incorporate text AND images. If you would like to submit your suggestions or recommendations, won’t you send us an email?
