  1. Hello,
I have always had an interest in bookbinding and I was wondering if you could tell me how one would become a professional bookbinder. someone who not only binds new books but also fixes them.
I would really appreciate it if you could give me some pointers. thanks!

In Canada, cbbag.ca offers a home study program. Through CDs and manuals, you can learn basic and advanced bookbinding techniques most common in North American. Some supplement this learning by taking bookbinding workshops locally.
In US, there are several book arts centres where you can learn different bookbinding structures. There are also universities/schools that offer a degree in bookbinding. Book repair will likely be a course that they offer. If you are seeking for book restoration or conservation, that a specialized field possibly requiring a master level degree/education.
Hope this information helps you. Good luck!
